Description:Within the interagency structure of the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Meteorology, the Working Group for Hurricane and Winter Storms Operations, operating under the Committee for Basic Services, is responsible for maintaining the National Winter Storms Operations Plan. This plan was developed to coordinate the efforts of the Nation’s weather services to furnish weather observations used in providing adequate and timely warnings of severe winter storms along the coasts of the United States.
