Description:A flood involves an overflowing of a large amount of water onto areas of dry land. Floods can have positive effects such as relieving drought prone areas but also negative effects such as costing millions of dollars of damage to buildings and infrastructure. This flood bibliography is the third in a series of information bibliographies presenting material held in the NOAA Libraries on natural disasters. Here you will find scientific studies and recounting of flood events from the earliest times to the present.
