Description:This assessment focuses on the Pacifc mackerel sub-stock that is found along the Pacifc coast north of Punta Abreojos (Baja California) that extends north to areas of southern California, and even further during favorable oceanographic periods to waters of the U.S. Pacifc Northwest. This sub-stock is harvested by fshermen in the U.S. and Mexico, and is the population considered in this assessment. Stock structure of the species of the Pacifc coast of North America is not known defnitively.
