Details:

  • Alternative Title:
NOAA Science Advisory Board report on Air Quality in a Changing Climate: NOAA’s Role
  • Corporate Authors:
  • Description:
This report was developed under NOAA’s stated goal “To understand and predict changes in climate, weather, the ocean, and coasts.” Specifically, air quality degradation is one of the major consequences of climate change and is often called the “climate penalty.” Therefore, including air quality prediction in NOAA’s earth system modeling prediction is an essential goal. The report includes six overarching recommendations to develop and exploit NOAA’s expertise in air quality prediction in a changing climate.
  • Content Notes:
White paper on enhancing the role of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in observing, understanding, and predicting the impacts and interactions of air quality with the Earth’s changing climate through improved earth system prediction.
