Description:Medford recently implemented a new PC-based system of collecting, processing, and storing RAWS data for dissemination to AFOS. RAWS data are accessed via the Forest Service’s AFFIRMS computer network. SAO’s are accessed via AFOS, and a database of both RAWS and SAO observations is maintained by the PC. Software developed as part of this program is used to create plotfiles and AMOS-type RAWS observations which are transmitted into AFOS.
