Description:"The skimmer trawl fishery in the northern Gulf of Mexico targets inshore areas to harvest penaeid shrimp (Family Penaeidae). The primary species targeted are brown shrimp, Farfantepenaeus aztecus, from May through July, and white shrimp, Litopenaeus setiferus, from August through December.
