Description:Here, we apply guidance published by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS; Lambert et al. 2015) to complete a risk assessment for the limited access northeast multispecies groundfish fishery. The northeast groundfish fishery is one of 16 federally managed catch share fisheries in the U.S. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) defines catch shares as “fishery management strategies that allocate a specific portion of the total allowable fishery catch to individuals, cooperatives, communities, or other entities.
