Description:"This document is a compilation of unpublished reports describing six unrelated fish survey projects conducted by the NOAA Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) Reef Resources Team during the period 1985 - 2002. The projects span the geographical range from Puerto Rico and Little Cayman in the Caribbean to the Florida middle grounds (West Florida Shelf), Dry Tortugas region, and Florida Keys. The projects described in this compilation represent early research and monitoring efforts. The purpose of this document is to make previously unpublished research available for potential use by researchers, managers, and other parties interested in the fish communities associated with the study areas described in the studies herein. For example, researchers or managers might use data collected and summarized in this compilation as quantitative or qualitative baselines against which to assess changes over time for the study areas of interest. In general, the reports contained in this compilation are as initially written following the original study. Thus, the report format is not consistent throughout the compilation, and with minor exceptions reports have not been edited following their original completion. For each of the reports, nomenclature was as listed in the then-current edition of the American Fisheries Society publication 'Common and Scientific Names of Fishes from the United States and Canada'. For most of the reports, fish data are summarized in tabular format. For readers interested in obtaining more detailed data, inquiries should be sent to the address below"--Foreword.
