Description:

Support of students, development and teaching of academic subjects, support of faculty research, and addition of another ocean engineering staff member were the goals of the Sea Grant for Oceanographic Engineering Academic Development GH-104. At the beginning of the contract period July 1, 1970, the first class of three students had completed an academic year of residence at M.I.T. They transferred to Woods Hole for summer residence at W.H.O.I, and were joined by three of the four students who had been admitted to the second class. This group of six students took the summer semester course in Oceanographic Engineering Systems - a subject encompassing lectures on instrumentation and student projects
