Description:"The South Atlantic Fisheries Management Council (South Atlantic Council) is concerned that regulations implementing several recent snapper grouper amendments could increase the incentive to fish for black sea bass. Therefore, the South Atlantic Council is proposing management measures that would limit participation in the black sea bass component of the snapper grouper fishery and slow the rate of harvest to prevent the progressive shortening of the commercial and recreational fishing seasons. The South Atlantic Council is also concerned about the accuracy, timing, and quantity of fisheries data and is proposing management measures that would improve fisheries data"--Abstract.
