    The highlight of the Illinois-​Indiana Sea Grant Program biennium occurred in November 1989 when the Program became a Sea Grant Institution. This designation is conferred on participating institutions to recognize the maturation of Sea Grant Programs, in our case, a relatively young program. We have completed eight years of operation and service, and feel the Program has moved steadily forward with continued and increased support from the National Sea Grant College Program.
