  • Description:
Emphasis in this project was on methods of characterization, diagnosis and screening of IHHN disease of penaeid shrimp. Findings indicate that shrimp primary cell cultures may be applicable for diagnosis of infections and in the production of virus for future research. However, the use of primary cell cultures as a diagnostic procedure for IHHN was found to be less cost- and time-effective than the current methods of histopathology and shrimp bioassay.
