Description:The Fisher Observations initiative was developed and led by fishers to integrate traditional and ecological knowledge into scientific and management processes in the Pacific Islands Region. It was introduced by Hawai‘i fishermen, Clay Tam and Roy Morioka, to provide on-the-water observations and give context to fishery-dependent data found in the Annual SAFE Report modules.
