    Archaeological surveys were done of the Big Bay sloop, the Green Bay sloop, the Gallinipper schooner, the Home schooner, the Byron schooner, and the Northerner schooner. Archa​eological surveys conducted by the Wisconsin Historical Society are joint efforts of many different organizations and individuals. The surveys conducted in this report were the result of a cooperative effort by the Wisconsin Historical Society, the University of Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Funding was provided by grants from the University of Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.​The surveys were organized and staffed by the Society’s Maritime Preservation and Archaeology program and Society volunteers and conducted over the 2007, 2008, and 2009 field seasons.
