Description:

The Virginia Wetlands Act of 1973 was established with limited information regarding previous wetlands conversions, yet this information is useful in developing wetlands management policy. This report summarizes the findings of a study which determined the historical changes in wetlands acres and wetland use from 1949 to 1971 in Virginia Beach and Accomack Counties. Implications for policy decisions and wetlands management are developed in this report.
