  • Description:
Presented here is Michigan Sea Grant's new strategic plan for 2005-2010 for our federal/state partnership of research, outreach, and education. The plan is designed to enhance the sustainable use of Great Lakes resources, benefiting the economy, the environment, and quality of life. We are part of a nationwide network of 30 university-based, coastal programs that provide excellent research and resources to help stakeholders address 21st Century coastal challenges. The resulting plan presented here addresses the needs of all Michigan citizens who care about the Great Lakes environment, builds on our strengths and successful programs, focuses on the current set of critical issues, yet remains flexible enough to be responsible to issues just over the horizon.
