Description:The Law of the Sea Institute is pleased to publish, for the first time since its inception in 1966, this annual report covering activities for the calendar year 1971. The achievements of the Institute during the year 1971 were accomplished largely through the efforts and under the skillful direction of the late Gerard E. Sullivan, who served as associate director for fourteen months until his untimely death on February 25, 1972. It is to him that this report is gratefully dedicated.
