Description:

This is a report on marine sportfishing in Rhode Island in 1978. Estimates are based on interviews of over 5,000 saltwater fishermen, about one-half of whom were from out of state, and on a telephone survey of about 9,000 households in the state. Estimates were made of the numbers, weight, and species of fish caught, by place of fishing (shore, dock, boat, etc.), by season, and by residency (in or out of state).
