Description:

The Michigan Clean Marina Program promotes a cleaner environment by providing best management practices, technical information, and educational material to marina operators and boaters. This guidebook is written primarily for owner/operators of full service marinas but is equally applicable to all marinas, boaters, and marine retailers. Adopting the best management practices recommended here will demonstrate a commitment to environmental and human health, and lead to a variety of economic benefits. The guidebook provides advice on the following topics: siting considerations for new or expanding marinas; design and maintenance; storm water management; boat maintenance and repair; petroleum control; waste disposal; laws and regulations; and Environmentally Preferable Purchasing.
