Description:The vision for a coordinated regional effort is among an array of recommendations from this 2006 coastal conference. Nearly 200 attendees represented various federal, state and local agencies and commissions, academia and nongovernmental organizations. Presentations highlighting innovative projects with proven results covered: fish, fisheries and protected species, coastal and offshore habitats, pollution and connections to ecosystems and human health, socio-economic assessment of the southeast ecosystem, and water supply and water flow.
