Description:The International Marine Science Cooperation Program has compiled this guide to provide information on potential funding sources for both marine scientists and social scientists; it is an introduction to a variety of sources: private foundations, educational institutions, corporations, government agencies, national, multinational, and international organizations. Support is offered in a wide range of marine study areas including the natural sciences of biology, chemistry, geology, and physics, and the social sciences of marine policy, marine law, and resource economics and management. Types of work supported by the various sources include research, academic exchange, collaborative research, post-doctoral fellowships, doctoral support, field work, seminars, workshops and symposia, training, travel, publications, and equipment. Funding is available for a variety of applicants including individuals, for-profit and non-profit organizations, universities and colleges, and industry.
