Description:This paper reports selected findings from a telephone survey of Louisiana shrimp fishermen. Summarized is information on vessel size, education, demographics, sales, experience, employment, economic and social well-being. By far the most pervasive concern was with the excessive amount of federal and state regulation. Other concerns high on the list were overfishing, environmental issues, and financial problems.
