Description:This is a report on the Sustainable Coastal Tourism Fellowship Program, a project of the
University of Hawaii Sea Grant College Program’s Center for Sustainable Coastal Tourism. The
purpose of the Center is to marshal the resources of the University to help support and promote a
sustainable tourism industry that minimizes its environmental footprint, encourages stewardship
of coastal resources, and fosters respect for Hawaii’s multicultural society. The Fellowship
Program was funded by Kyo-ya Hotels & Resorts, LLP with matching funds from the University
of Hawaii Sea Grant College Program.
