Description:The Spreadsheet Tool for the Estimation of Pollutant Load (STEPL) is a Microsoft ExcelTM spreadsheet based model. The model can calculate surface runoff, nutrient and sediment loads from various land use types before and after the application of Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Low Impact Development (LID) stormwater practices. STEPL takes into account local precipitation data, land use type, number of animals, septic systems, and Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) parameters in its calculations. This specific STEPL model calculates pollutant load reductions for the bioretention cell located in Brunswick, Georgia at Howard Coffin Park, specifically in the Mackay River- Frontal Atlantic Ocean watershed.
