Description:This report examines how a select group of commercial fishing communities in the Southeast rely on specific marine species and how those species are vulnerable to climate change. The objective of the community climate vulnerability indicators project is to forecast the possible effects of climate change on a coastal fishing community’s marine resource base and how that change may affect the businesses and people that work there. The following analysis contributes to that objective by providing a graphic presentation of species landed within coastal fishing communities in the Gulf of Mexico and South Atlantic from 2000 to 2018 and showing how community vulnerability is related to the mix and the diversity of landed species over time.
