Description:The River Rescue project, a collaborative effort between Citizens Bank, the University of Rhode Island's Coastal Resource Center (CRC), and Rhode Island Sea Grant, was designed to collect high quality environmental data on the urban rivers of Providence using trained citizen volunteers as field scientists. Citizens Bank provided promotional and financial support for the project, while CRC coordinated the technical aspects of monitoring. Rhode Island Sea Grant provided supplemental funding and technical assistance. Results and conclusions are presented here.
