Description:

The University of Wisconsin Sea Grant College Program has twice cosponsored invitational workshops where Great Lakes analytical chemists and scientists could share information, compare methods and standardize measurements. The most recent workshop attracted more than 70 scientists from universities, industry, and state, provincial and federal laboratories from the U.S. and Canada. This report includes summaries of workshop group discussions, reprints of 21 related research articles recommended by workshop participants, and a directory of participants. This year's workshops focused on low-level organics, pattern recognition of complex mixtures and other applications of `chemometrics,' mass spectrometry, and new quality assurance and quality control issues.
