Description:

Rhode Island Sea Grant and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management Narragansett Bay Estuary Program hosted a workshop to discuss nutrient removal ideas and technologies for wastewater treatment facilities that discharge to Narragansett Bay and tributaries. This publication contains summaries of presentations on nutrient loading to the bay and probable effects, and includes successful nitrogen removal case studies from around the country. Recommendations are made for denitrification and for biological nutrient removal, policies and practices.
