Description:Eighty members of Louisiana's tourism industry convened in November 2000 for the purposes of discussing key issues likely to affect the state's tourism industry in the next 10 years and identifying necessary public and private sector strategies to address these issues. Six key issues were addressed in the following areas: education and training, product development, marketing, technology, quality of life, and tourism infrastructure. Participants' responses to the numerous questions raised and the priorities subsequently established are detailed in this report. Statistical information about the future of tourism is also presented, as well as contact information for participants.
