Located just east of Acadia National Park, Maine, three towns rest on the shores of Taunton Bay. In 2002, the Maine Sea Grant program conducted an opinion survey designed to help assess the level of interest and perceived need in the area for the types of extension programs that it provides. Overarching questions included: How important is Taunton Bay to the culture and livelihoods of residents living near it? And, what knowledge do local residents possess about issues related to Taunton Bay?
