Description:In order to relate theory and practice, we must start with an appropriate theoretical foundation. Fortunately, in a recent paper Curtiss (1968) his developed a mathematical model for the interpretation of precipitation probability predictions. While I consider some of his interpretations unfortunate, his model is nonetheless valid, appropriate, and useful.
