Description:

The OTEC program of the Department of Energy has a requirement for physical oceanographic data. These data and other types of oceanographic data are necessary to evaluate the potential of various sites for OTEC operations. The types of physical oceanographic data required to perform this evaluation are given by Molinari and Festa (1978) and Molinari and Chew (1979). A suggested measurement program to obtain these data is also given in these reports, and was implemented at two sites in the Gulf of Mexico, and one in the tropical South Atlantic.
