Description:The statistics of position and size of the focal spot on a simulated human retina for laser illumination through refractive turbulence in the atmosphere were measured. Both 3-mm and 7-mm apertures were used under a variety of propagation conditions.
No significant mitigating effects of spot broadening or motion were observed.
