Description:The overall purpose of this paper is to review the effort and participation estimates, sampling levels, and questionnaire content from the first ten years (1979-1988) of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Marine Recreational Fishery Statistics Survey (MRFSS) in the southeastern subregions of the US. Estimates of effort (trips) and participation (number of anglers) are presented by subregion and state. Estimate variation, precision, and possible trends are considered. Graphs and tables were developed for analysis and ease of reference.
