Description:Forecasters at WSFD Indianapolis (WSFO IND) have been hesitant to forecast overnight low temperatures below MDS when winds were blowing frcm the city. The belief was that MDS generally tended to underforecast low temperatures cn such nights, because MDS likely did not handle the local warm air advecticn off the urban heat island adequately. The purpose of this study was to establish the statistical validity of that belief.
