This publication is part of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) effort to develop state-of-the-art techniques to use economic information for habitat and fishery management. It includes the papers presented at a NMFS-sponsored workshop during July 1984. The papers represent the views of the author regarding the principal issues involved on each topic. A companion publication (Making Economic Information More Useful for Fishery Managers -- N0AA Technical Memo NWR-10) summarizes the topics discussed at the workshop and recommends procedures to improve the usefulness of economic information for fishery management decisions.
