Description:

A workshop on the physiological effects and possibly pathological effects of chasing and capturing dolphins during tuna purse seininq was held on 1-3 May 1979 at the Southwest Fisheries Center in La Jolla, California. The workshop was convened to discuss whether or not unobserved mortality was likely among dolphins captured during purse-seining for yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) and released apparently unharmed.
