Description:The groundfish fisheries in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Bering Sea Aleutian Island Area (BSAI) and Gulf of Alaska (GOA) are managed under the Fishery Management Plan (FMP) for the Groundfish Fishery of the BSAI and the FMP for Groundfish of the GOA. The FMPs were developed by the North Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) and approved by the Secretary of Commerce under the Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act (Magnuson Act).
