Description:The primary objectives of this report are to estimate fishing mortality of groundfish species in U.S. West Coast fisheries during 2018 and evaluate mortality estimates relative to annual catch limit (ACL), acceptable biological catch (ABC), and overfishing limit (OFL) harvest specifications. These management specifications are published in the federal groundfish regulations for selected groundfish species (USOFR 2001, 2015). Based on a recommendation from the Pacific Fishery Management Council’s (PFMC) Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC), we present groundfish mortality estimates by species,
whenever possible (PFMC 2014).
