Description:This data report presents the data collected through moored instrumentation during the North Brazil Current Rings Experiment, a joint effort between the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, NOAA’s Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and Columbia University’s Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory. The program is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The main goal of this program is to study the contribution of the North Brazil Current (NBC) rings to inter- hemispheric exchange of heat and salt and to determine their role in climate.
