Description:

This Reef Flsh Fishery Management Plan of the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council (GMFMC) is developed in compliance with the provisions of the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976 (P.L. 94-255). In it's preparation the best avallable scientific data have been utilized and all proposed regulations have been put forth as conforming to the National Standards as required by Section 301 of the Act. The Plan contains an overview of the fishery, domestic and foreign, considers both commercial and recreatlonal interests, takes Into account the social, economic and ecological characteristics of the fishery and proposed management measures designed to achive satisfaction of the stated objectives. The proposed action is to implement the Fishery Management Plan.
