Description:The Reef Fish Fishery Management Plan was implemented in November 1984. The implementing regulation, included: (1) prohibitions on the use of fish traps, roller trawls, and powerhead-equipped spear guns within an inshore stressed area; (2) a minimum size limit of 13 inches total length for red snapper with the exception that for-hire boats were exempted until 1987 and each angler could keep five undersize fish; and, (3) data reporting requirements.
