Description:In April 1999, the North Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council adopted measures to reduce incidental catch of SR/RE rockfish in GOA. NMFS published a proposed rule in the Federal Register on August 3, 1999 (64 FR 42080). No comments were received on the proposed rule. This NON-CONTROVERSIAL regulatory amendment will separate SR/RE rockfish from the aggregated rockfish species group and reduce the MRB percentage for SR/RE in the ERA of the GOA.
