Description:In November 2010, the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council (Gulf Council) hosted a Sector Separation Workshop in Tampa, Florida, to discuss and obtain perspectives on sector separation (GMFMC 2010). Sector separation refers to the dividing of the recreational quota into one or more separate for‐hire and private angler sector quotas. The Gulf Council has recently begun development of an amendment to address sector separation for Gulf recreational red snapper
