Description:The 2016 FISHPAC cruise was completed aboard the NOAA ship Fairweather. During the cruise, over 4,000 nautical miles of the eastern Bering Sea (EBS) was surveyed to acquire acoustic data for seafloor habitat characterization. The cruise yielded vital sonar data, geophysical and sediment grab data, and sound speed data in support of stock-assessment models and improving the habitat mapping initiative for federally managed fisheries under the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act.
