The procedures used by the SFSS meteorologist in analyzing satellite photographs and issuing satellite narratives relating to the area of suspected severe weather activity are described in detail. The actual Applied Technology Satellite 3 pictures used, the SFSS activity log, and the Satellite narrative messages issued are presented as an illustration of SFSS procedures during a potential or actual severe weather situation.
