Description:"The great sculpin (Myoxocephalus polyacanthocephalus),
a member of the Cottidae family, is
found over sand and mud bottoms in the North
Pacific Ocean from the Washington coast to the
Bering Sea at depths up to 240 m (Eschmeyer et
al., 1983). There are currently no targeted
fisheries for sculpins in Alaskan waters;
however, they are often caught incidentally in
trawl and longline fisheries, with Myoxocephalus
species making up a large proportion of the total
sculpin catch (Reuter et al., 2006; Reuter and
TenBrink, 2007)"--Page 1.
