Description:This document presents relevant life history, assessment, and summary plots of data available from Hawaii longline fishery observer data and the literature for oceanic whitetip shark (Carcharhinus longimanus) and giant manta ray (Manta birostris) catches by the longline (LL) fisheries in Hawaii and American Samoa from 2010 to 2016. This information is being provided at the request of the Pacific Islands Regional Office as both species are currently proposed to be listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
