Description:Marine forecasters on the Great Lakes are charged with the responsibility of forecasting wind conditions over the lakes and near the shore. Ship reports and forecast guidance are available for wind conditions which occur 5 or more n mi from shore, and wind observations are available at the coast, but little objective guidance is available within 5 n mi of the shore. This report attempts to fill that void.
