Description:This report surveys the current physics, numerics, objective analysis, and verification of the Techniques Development Laboratory's atmospheric Boundary Layer Model. The model is semi-operational and can produce daily forecasts extending to 24 hours for wind, temperature, and humidity within the earth's lowest two kilometers. The model's forecast area consists of most of the United States east of the Rocky Mountains and is covered with a computational grid with an 80-km mesh spacing.
